The Amenities Of Historic Lyons House Bed and Breakfast
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax between performances of renown Shaw
Festival, our home is like “your home away from home”. Famous restoration architect
Peter John Stokes meticulously restored principal rooms on the grand floor to
reminiscent the gracious living of the Regency period.
The fireplaces with their large mantle pieces in the dining and living rooms
lend themselves perfectly to afternoon and evening fireside conversations.
Magnificent, 12 foot high walls all through the house are a complement for the
display of our contemporary Canadian artist Linda Hankin.
The spacious, elegant centrally airconditioned guest
rooms are romantically furnished in period style queen sleigh beds, antiqe armoires
and dressers, comfortable reading chairs, fire places, and private bathrooms.
In the spring, summer and fall, you might relax in our beautiful English gardens
that still have many plants of early 19th century gardens: crown imperials, the
old fashioned “pinny” (the feather-leafed peony), the Star of Bethlehem and the
rare white wisteria.
In the winter, you can lounge by the fire with a good book from our library, a
game of checkers, backgammon, or bridge.
To spoil you even more, massage, manicure and pedicure
can be arranged for an extra charge all year round.
